Virtual Golf-a-Thon
2 – R – Benefit 2011 Golf Tournament
Friday, August 19


What: SWRInstitute regional golf outing anually held the third Friday in August.

Who: The Virtual Golf-a-Thon™ is a golf tournament for SWRInstitute member companies and companies that are eligible for membership.

Where: At a local course of your choice.

When: Friday, August 19 as close to 1 p.m. (ET) as possible.

Purpose: The Virtual Golf-a-Thon™ is a fun event designed to outreach to prospective members; engage inactive members; promote our technical meetings; increase the visibility of the Institute; and contribute to a related cause. 

Costs and Team Registration Fees: Each team will be responsible for the green fees at your course plus a $250 registration fee per team in the tournament. The money raised will be donated to Golfers Against Cancer on behalf of SWRInstitute. This is an opportunity to create a local buzz for the Institute as well as making a donation to a tremendous organization. 

Registration: CLICK HERE to register your team! Each team will designate a team captain to fill out the form. Once registered, your team captain has access to manage your “team profile” where he can enter your team member’s names, score to par, slope, rating of the selected course, etc.

Cancellation Policy:
• All cancellations must be made in writing and can be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to SWRInstitute Headquarters.
• Any cancellations received on or before July 29, 2011, will be honored, but will result in a $50 per person processing charge.
• There will be no refunds for cancellations received after July 29, 2011.

Rules:
• Each team will comprise of 4 players.
• Teams consist of a minimum of one SWRInstitute member. Foursomes may consist of prospective members or other SWRInstitute members.
• All prospective member players MUST be industry related and have the potential to qualify for SWRInstitute membership as a contractor, manufacturer or associate.
• Each team must designate a team captain; this person will be responsible for filling out the registration form and for managing your "team's profile." The team captain will also select your local course, coordinate with other local members and prospective members and turning in your scores.

Format:
• Play your own ball.
• Team scores will be: 
   - You must use a minimum of 3 scores from each player.
• Team captains will keep score for all 4 players and enter scores into your "team profile." At the end of your round you can designate which score to use on each hole.
• No mulligans.
• The course must be at least par 71 and play a minimum of 6400 yds.
• Handicap for each player to be submitted along with course card.
• Should your event experience inclement weather on August 19, please make every effort to play your round within 1 week.
• Recognition: Winners will be recognized at the 2011 Fall Technical Meeting in New Orleans, Sept. 25-27.
