ASTM C10-06 Reinstated
ASTM C10 was one of the oldest original ASTM standards (adopted in 1904) and its reinstatement has an important impact on historic mortars, stucco and concrete restoration work. The new standard was written by ASTM Task Group
C1.10.04, chaired by Michael Edison with Edison Coatings (and SWR Institute member), and was written with historic restoration in mind. For more background information, members can reference an article via the link below that appeared in ASTM Standardization News earlier this year:
Please note: The ASTM C10-06 standard will be available for purchase on the ASTM Web site by mid-October.

Michael P. Edison is a chemical engineer and has been president of Edison Coatings, Inc. in Plainville, Conn., for 26 years. The company, a manufacturer of specialty materials for use in masonry and concrete restoration, restarted commercial production of natural cements in 2004. Edison is a past president of the Connecticut Chapter of the International Concrete Repair Institute, a current director of the Northeast Chapter of the Association for Preservation Technology, and leads the ASTM task group within Committee C01 on Cement that is working to reinstate ASTM Standard C 10.
