SWR Foundation Scholarship

The Grant
The number of grants and the dollar amount for each will be determined by the SWR Institute Board of Directors and a selection committee, but each grant will be up to $1,500. These grants will assist and encourage qualified students to further or continue their interest in selecting the construction industry and specifically the sealant, waterproofing, and restoration industry as a pending or continued career.

Grant Eligibility Requirements
Any student who is enrolled full time in a certificate or degree program in an accredited trade school, 2-year junior college or 4-year college or university is eligible to apply for a grant. Employees of SWR Institute member companies or individuals are eligible for consideration to receive a grant. Relatives of the SWR Institute selection committee are not eligible for grants.

Notification
All applicants will be notified, in writing, as to the determination of grant recipients. Once the determination has been made that the applicant is duly registered at the institution noted on the application, a check will then be issued in the name of student and mailed directly to the registrar's or financial aid office. An announcement will also be made in conjunction with the SWR Institute Fall Technical Meeting typically held in early or mid-October.

Selection Criteria
The application must be completed and returned to SWR Institute headquarters no later than May 15 to be considered for the Fall semester and September 15 to be considered for the Spring semester. Copies of the applicant's academic transcripts and all letters of recommendation and reference must also be received by SWR Institute headquarters by May 15 or September 15.

The selection of grant recipients will be determined by SWR Institute, taking into consideration the following criteria:

• The applicant's indication of interest in pursuing the career in the construction industry, specifically the sealant, waterproofing and restoration industry.

•The applicant's record of scholastic achievement, including grade point average.

•The applicant's economic need [certain tax and financial information may be requested, along with other grants or scholarships].

•The applicant's references and recommendations by instructors, employers and other pertinent individuals.
