Laboratory Selection Process for SWRInstitute Product Validation
The Validation Committee periodically reviews the laboratory accreditation requirement and has modified the laboratory selection process to reflect a more inclusive accreditation position. Below is the new process for selecting laboratories to test products for SWRInstitute’s Product Validation Program.
- Possible product validation laboratories must be submitted to SWRInstitute prior to the submission of the product validation application for approval.
- Submitted laboratories must be accredited by NVLAP, IAS, ACLASS or other approved accreditation programs that are ILAC-MRA signatories prior to, and during, the testing process.
- It is the manufacturer’s responsibility to ensure the accreditation of the laboratory used for product validation testing is current.
- Laboratories used for validation testing purposes must be independently owned and operated. No laboratory can have any interest in the manufacturing company having products validated.
Please make sure the laboratory you are using has the proper and current accreditation as listed above.
CLICK HERE to submit the lab you wish to validate your product(s) to the SWRInstitute Validation Committee. Once the form is received, it is reviewed by the SWRInstitute Validation Committee and you will be notified if the lab is approved for testing your product.

* Please note: Manufacturers must submit the lab of their choice for approval before testing, the above recently approved labs are only listed as a starting point to go from. Applicants are responsible to assure that the lab accrediation is still current and enforce. Manufacturers must submit the lab's certification form.
