Lab Selection Process

The Validation Committee periodically reviews the laboratory accreditation requirement and has modified the laboratory selection process to reflect a more inclusive accreditation position. Below is the process for selecting laboratories to test products for SWR Institute’s Product Validation Program.

  • Possible product validation laboratories must be submitted to SWR Institute prior to the submission of the product validation application for approval.
  • Submitted laboratories must be accredited by NVLAP, IAS, ACLASS or other approved accreditation programs that are ILAC-MRA signatories prior to, and during, the testing process.
  • It is the manufacturer’s responsibility to ensure the accreditation of the laboratory used for product validation testing is current.
  • Laboratories used for validation testing purposes must be independently owned and operated.  No laboratory can have any interest in the manufacturing company having products validated.

Please make sure the laboratory you are using has the proper and current accreditation as listed above.
